Mark Atkinson & Jane Farkins ran the Queens Head Inn at Askham in the heart of the Lake district National park for four years before leaving to set up Saddleback Foods and Smokerie. Jane was the chef and Mark looked after the front of house, local ingredients were sourced wherever possible and only the freshest produce was used – even now fresh herbs are used from the garden and local meat is used.

We are continuously monitoring and experimenting, so watch this space for improved methods and new products.
